My fav five?

So I had someone ask me today what my five favorite things were about Austin. This really made my mind race about all the things I love about my kids, and all the things I could really live without them doing or saying! So I thought I would take some time to let them know my five favorite things about each of them.

Alyssa:
1. She is so affectionate, hugs and kisses all day!
2. She worries about other people and how they feel.
3. She is always a good friend to all her friend's and family.
4. She actually likes to spend time with me, I hope this one lasts!
5. Although she acts a little "blond" most days, she actually is very responsible.

Austin:
1. He is sooo funny! He makes me laugh, a lot!
2. He is very sweet and affectionate. Lots of hugs and kisses from him too!
3. He makes me cards, all the time. Especially when I REALLY need one.
4. He loves music, just like me! He is learning to play the drums, and he loves to here and play the piano.
5. He reminds me of my dad, he has all his good qualities, but with a Hendricks twist!

Jaxon:
1. He is my baby, and probably always will be, so I love that he lets me treat him like one, but it is hard when he wants to act like one! I guess you cant have it both ways!
2. He gives me "snug-a-bugs" every morning and night.
3. CHOCOHOLIC, big time. Lives on chocolate milk. He is definitely my kid. But he is an exact replica of his dad!
4. He is hilarious. He has the vocabulary of a 10 year old. He cracks me up!
5. He still believes in monsters, fairies, and everything imaginary. I absolutely love this age! (other than the potty training!)

I love all of you with all my heart. I am lucky to have such great kids. Snug-a-bugs to all of you!

It's late and I can't sleep

Therefore I will post! I can't sleep as usual, so I thought I would take a few minutes to say a few things that have been on my mind. I miss sleeping. I am so tired lately, yet I can't seem to fall asleep. My mind is racing, yet my body cannot move. Any suggestions? Anyhow, I have been thinking a lot lately about the world, and all of it's problems. I have to say I am truly scared for my children to continue growing up. I look at each one of them every time they leave for the bus, or want to go to a friends house, and it scares me to death to watch them go. The world is so unpredictable and so much scarier than I ever remember it being when I was younger. I lay awake at night and worry, what if? I also fret over not being prepared for what is to come for all of us in the future. I know I must sound like a crazy person, but these are the things that worry me. Also, I know if I were more prepared, spiritually and physically, this wouldn't scare me so much. I know there is not much I can do about the crazy world we live in, but there is so much I can do to prepare the way for children's future and our eternity together, I just worry I am running out of time. Sorry to sound so morbid and weird, but it helps to say this out loud, or in type.

Kuyki-do Championships April 2008

Aren't my kids tough? LOL! They have been doing Kuyki-do for almost a year now, and they both love it. Kuyki-do, for those of you who aren't familar with the sport, is a form of mixed martial arts. It stems off from Tae-kwon Do, but the differnce is Tae-Kwon Do is more of a non-contacts "pretend" fighting, and this is the real deal! It made me kinda nervous at first because the were kicking and punching each other, and I thought for sure this would lead to them punching each other or someone else out! They both have been very respectable of the sport, and I am very proud of them for doing so. They are both really good at it too. I promise I am not just saying that because they are my kids, the both just rock! They both kicked butt at the tournament in April of this year, and I wanted to show them both off a little to my friends and family. Ausitn took first place in both "Sparring" and "Forms" and Alyssa took 1st place in "Forms" and 2nd place in "Sparring" Way to go Lyss and Aust, you both are TOUGH!

First Day of School, WOOHOO!

They are going back to school! Yippee! Alyssa starts the 6th grade, crap only one year left till Jr. High, that sucks :( ) Austin is starting 2nd grade, and Jax will start his second year of pre-school. Yes I put him in pre-school last year when he was only two, but he loved it! Alyssa can't wait for Jr. High. She wants a locker, REALLY bad. I REALLY bad do not want her to be that old. Austin can't wait for 2nd grade, I asked why he was so excited, his answer was "Cuz when you are in 1st grade you are the baby of the school, I hated that!" My reply was "I thought the Kindergartners were the babies of the school?" He said "They don't count cuz they don't get to eat school lunch" I thought that was pretty funny! Jax is excited only because I will be teaching at his school this year, so he gets to go to school with mommy. We will see how this works out...

Daddy Daughter Date "Luau Style!"

JT and Alyssa! Wow! don't they both look too cute! What a special day to remember. I told JT as they were both leaving to make sure he cherishes every moment of the night. Alyssa is all of a sudden all grown up! I am not sure where all the time has gone. She is such a sweet girl, but she sure can be sassy! I wonder where she gets that from? We love you Issy! Our house would be much too quiet without you here!

Lagoon! July 2008

Nicole, Alyssa, Austin, and Jax. We are a thrill ride family! The faster the better! The funny thing is Jax is only three and he is the funniest of all! He can't get enough of it!

Can I cry yet?

I just spent three hours figuring out this blogging stuff, and realized I messed up big time, and now I am starting all over!!!!! It is really late, this sucks. Not a very good start to my blogging experience. Oh well, I will try again tomorrow. This really sucks!
